Meet Lindsey

Meet Lindsey-F

Hello! My name is Lindsey Berger and I am a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator and Certified Sign Language Interpreter from San Antonio, Texas.

Here you will find a passionate place to guide you through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. This space is filled with articles and Childbirth Education Classes (also accessible in American Sign Language).

I work with expectant families both near and far and I truly LOVE the world of childbirth.

Education & Training

I am certified with Lamaze International as a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE) and completed my training through the Family Trees Childbirth Educator Program. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in American Sign Language Interpreting and certification through the Board of Evaluators of Interpreters (BEI).

Interests & Areas of Focus

The main population I serve is expectant/growing families. I respect that families look different for all of us, so whether you are expecting your first baby or your fourth, loving someone through surrogacy, adopting or obsessed with childbirth, WELCOME!

I work with both hearing and deaf pregnant women and families. As a Sign Language Interpreter and Deaf Ministry Leader, I’ve been involved with the deaf community for over 20 years. I’m extremely passionate about language access for ALL, specifically the deaf community.

In addition to spoken English Childbirth Courses, I offer ASL Childbirth Courses too. If you are deaf, know a deaf couple or deaf pregnant women who need access to this information, share us with them!

Personal Details

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband of 8 years, Andrew, and our young son. Before joining the birth world, I spent ten years working solely as a Sign Language Interpreter doing freelance work in just about every place you could imagine.

In 2015, my husband and I founded a non-profit called Deaf 316 Ministries, and that continues to fulfill the deepest parts of my heart.

My longtime obsession with childbirth led me to create Grow Birth Love.

Approach to Childbirth

Pregnancy, preparing for a new baby, birth and postpartum bring excitement. Excitement comes from empowerment and empowerment starts with education.

My desire is to encourage you on your expedition into motherhood. From seeing that first double pink line to bringing home baby, pregnancy and parenting beginning in the earliest stages can feel like unknown territory. I hope you first find a place here where you can feel relaxed, connected and ultimately empowered.

This road can be paved with bumps and feel stressful at times. Regardless of your situation, you deserve to feel good about the process of labor and birth. You need to feel confident in what happens after your precious bundle is in your arms.

Above all, I care most about providing accurate, evidence based information in an easy to digest manner. I’m a lifelong learner and always keep up with what the current research says. I consider myself honest, extremely friendly and down to earth. My role is to share the information and support you along the way, to guide you so you can make choices that allow you to feel supported and respected.

Fun Facts About Me!

I am from Texas. Yes, we have great Mexican food! No, I don’t own a horse.

I am fluent in American Sign Language and have been a Certified Sign Language Interpreter since 2007.

I play the ukulele.

I am the Founder of a Non Profit Deaf Ministry called Deaf 316 Ministries.

I have spent time in Thailand and China. I have also lived in Jordan, Micronesia, South Carolina and Texas.

Working in the birth world and writing about it hardly feels like work.

While living on the island of Pohnpei, Micronesia, I conquered my fear of the ocean and certified as a PADI Scuba Diver.

My favorite movie of ALL TIME is “Singin’ in the Rain.” I’m a sucker for the classic movies.

Pregnancy didn’t come easily for me, but it’s made me love and appreciate motherhood even more than I could have ever imagined.

Having the birth experience I hoped for empowered me in a way that urges me to encourage other mothers to know their options. Every mama deserves to feel informed as they make decisions throughout the entire birth process.
